Let’s face it. Country Guitar Playing has changed in the last 20 years. The sound is very different from when I was a kid and my parents listened to country music. Modern country music has a sound all of it’s own.

Modern country singers are making a sound that has never been heard before. It’s like the song says, a little country mixed with rock and a little blues. The new country is a far cry from the hits of Hank Williams, Patsy Cline, and Johnny Cash. They have a very different sound.

Modern Country Guitar Lessons need to be different too. I mean when I was a kid if we wanted licks, we’d buy a Tootsie Roll Pop. I can still hear the TV commercial with that wise old owl. Sorry, I watched a lot of TV.

Today when you take country guitar lessons you want to learn to play licks. You will also learn double stops, triple stops, chicken pickin’, hybrid picking, cross picking, and guitar riffs. Then you will get that famous Nashville tone that you are after.

You want to be able to quickly play the songs you hear on the radio. To play the great songs of your favorite country star. With good lessons you will also learn modern rhythm and soloing techniques as well as how to keep a beat.
