Country Guitar Lessons – A Dream Come True

You’re sitting at a local bar and it’s mic night. There’s a guitar and a set of drums on the stage. A man gets on stage and starts a fast drum roll. He then stops and asks if there is anyone that will accompany him. Everyone waits to see who gets up on stage. Nobody moves.

This is the first night you can remember when there was no one there to play the guitar.

You hesitate, then get up and head towards the stage. You see the drummer smile as you climb the stairs. He stands and extends his hand as you approach. He then motions to the guitar and says, “Glad to see you mate. Let’s do this thing”.

In your mind you are wondering if you just made the biggest mistake of your life. I mean, you’ve only been taking Country Guitar Lessons for six months. And now you’re on stage in front of people. Oh my there are people out there. All of them looking at you, and the drummer.

All of your fears subside as you pick up the guitar and do a quick adjustment to get it in tune.

Then you start playing and the crowd is silent. You wish you could say the same for the drummer. Man is he loud?

As you look at the drummer doing his thing you glance back to the crowd. There are now couples coming to the stage. Are they going to throw me off? No, they are dancing! They are dancing to my music!

You can feel the surge of confidence as the music flows from your guitar. You look out and there are more people standing near their tables and clapping out the beat. There are people dancing in their seats.

You look down at the dance floor and there are a few women there standing at the foot of the stage. BEAUTIFUL women standing near the stage. They are smiling and swaying to the music. Their eyes meet yours.

You think. Hey, this ain’t so bad. In fact, it’s pretty cool. These people are actually enjoying my playing.

And the drummer, well you don’t even know if he’s even paying attention now. But dang that man can play.

Your music starts to sound even better as your confidence grows. Then a few of the women get on stage and start dancing. “Man, this is just like on TV!. I can’t believe it!?”.

Then the music ends and everyone stands as they clap and cheer. You hop down off the stage a different man. a confident man. Several women instantly  surround you. One reaches over and gives you a big wet kiss….

Wet…….. what the? “Spot, get off the bed! Dang dog anyway”.

It was all a dream. Just a dream. But what a dream? You can still see those beautiful women. You can still hear the music.

You’ve been thinking about taking Country Guitar Lessons for a while now.

The phone startles you as it rings. You jump out of bed to answer it. It’s Bambi.

Bambi? You remember now. You met her last night at the bar while you were playing. “While I was playing?! It wasn’t a dream!”

You talk with Bambi. She wants to meet you for lunch. You look at the clock and it’s 10 am.

Just enough time to take a Country Guitar Lesson and a shower before you leave. Oh, and you’d better stop by the florists too.

You go to the TV and turn it on. You hit play on your DVD player and up comes a Country Guitar Lesson. This is the same lesson you started last night. Last night just before you went and played at the bar.

You start playing away but you can’t get Bambi out of your mind.

You look up at the clock and it’d 11:45.

You fly into the bathroom to get ready to go. Then the doorbell rings. You run to the door half dressed. What now you’re thinking.

You open the door and there stands….Bambi. It seems she decided that she wanted a little private jam session instead of lunch.

Bambi wants a private jam session.

The only thing you can think of as you invite her in and close the door is how smart it was for you to take Country Guitar Lessons.

Modern Country Guitar Lessons

July 4th, 2010

Let’s face it. Country Guitar Playing has changed in the last 20 years. The sound is very different from when I was a kid and my parents listened to country music. Modern country music has a sound all of it’s own.

Modern country singers are making a sound that has never been heard before. It’s like the song says, a little country mixed with rock and a little blues. The new country is a far cry from the hits of Hank Williams, Patsy Cline, and Johnny Cash. They have a very different sound.

Modern Country Guitar Lessons need to be different too. I mean when I was a kid if we wanted licks, we’d buy a Tootsie Roll Pop. I can still hear the TV commercial with that wise old owl. Sorry, I watched a lot of TV.

Today when you take country guitar lessons you want to learn to play licks. You will also learn double stops, triple stops, chicken pickin’, hybrid picking, cross picking, and guitar riffs. Then you will get that famous Nashville tone that you are after.

You want to be able to quickly play the songs you hear on the radio. To play the great songs of your favorite country star. With good lessons you will also learn modern rhythm and soloing techniques as well as how to keep a beat.

To get the sound you want you will Read the rest of this entry »

"Your course has been just outstanding. I got a little travel guitar that I take on the road with me and my computer which I usually have with me, and your you course is so convenient and so straight forward that I’m just happy as can be with my progress so far. I’ve been at it only 3 months yet I can actually play songs that I understand and that when I get home my family understands. Thank you very much for your complete course, it’s been very enjoyable and very easy to learn… most importantly after 50 some years I’m finally living the dream and finally making sound come out of that guitar that I’ve had for a number of years..."
